Training and staff development have now become the most important elements in providing quality care. Beavers are fortunate to be able to recruit, train and retain quality staff. This ensures an effective service that deals with most eventualities, including sickness and holiday cover. We are able to attain over a 99% success rate with care cover.
All staff are fully vetted and undertake the mandatory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks (formerly known as Criminal Records Bureau checks). A comprehensive induction programme is completed before they commence care duties. They are encouraged to undertake QCF (formerly known as NVQ) training, and a programme of on going appraisal and staff development is maintained.
